Description
The Single Axle Rotary Vane Feeder is similar to a revolving door in an airport or supermarket. It consists of 6 separate chambers, with a directly attached, maintenance-free geared motor. Whether it rotates or sits idle, it hermetically seals off the Boiler Grate area from the internal Pellet Feed Auger. It provides a 100% Burnback safe mechanism, even in the event of a power failure.
The Combustion air required in various power ranges is supplied by the speed-controlled, stainless steel, Induced Draught Fan. It is controlled by the microprocessor which is built into the Control System and/or by measuring values determined by the Lambda Sensor.
The Wood Pellets are automatically ignited by a Glow Pencil, which consists of a high temperature-resistant, ceramic heating element. The Glow Pencil is highly efficient and only requires 260 W, in contrast with a hot air blower which would require upwards of 1,500 W.
There is a Gravity Drop for the Wood Pellets from the Single Vane Rotary Feeder to the Stainless Steel Burner Grate. Downward burn begins as the flame is suctioned down through the Boiler Grate by the speed-controlled, Induced Draught Fan. Temperatures of up to 1,200°C develop in the Boiler chamber. High temperatures and the Downward Burn system guarantee the complete consumption of the burning material.
The Solarfocus Lambda Sensor (supplied by Bosch) measures the "residual air content" of the emissions and forwards the values to the Control system of the PelletTop Boiler. The Control system then calculates the optimal air volume required for the combustion from the actual values and sets the dampers and/or regulates the speed of the Induced Draught Fan.

My Wood Pellet Boiler experience has been very positive - 2 years in operation with no problems. Very easy to operate and maintain. The ash pan only needs clearing out once every 5-6 weeks and I carry out the annual maintenance myself (on the advice of the Installer).
